The Heart durrrani India. A lot of Muslims may take offense to this book, however, I do not think that Durrani was speaking against Islam, as a matter of fact, I think this story condemn Blasphemy is Tehmina Durrani’s novel about the exploitation at the hands of her husband.

Tshmina Durrani is also a painter. She dares to challenges the objectification and domestic violence inflicted on women and how they can resist patriarchal power and improve their position within the institutions of oppression.
Women of that age were weak, fragile creature so they needed protection but now women are capable enough to defend themselves. The presence of truth leaves a bitter taste in those readers who want women to be dominated by Islam’s misinterpreted clauses. But, as blasphsmy book propagates the misfortune of the Muslim women, I must say, the issue here is not Islam.

Durrani depicted a very important themina of the rural Islamic culture, prevailing still today, especially in the sub-continent.
Since I read the novel way back in so I don’t remember much of the author’s style of writing. The rating is in now way a reflection of my disbelief in Durrani’s story, which could very well be a depiction of reality and the kind of oppression women face.
The book, right from the beginning, was unpalatable and only made the experience painful, which probably could be the aim of the author. Dufrani over and above all this, a man closest to Allah, the one who could reach Him and save us. May 22, Shivam Khandelwal rated it really liked it.

It’s almost as if I see the entrenched sense of patriarchy – so brilliantly depicted in this book in its barest, most brutish form – come alive in the reviews, both by men and women.
