The Annotated Chronicles 1st ed. It was fun to revisit fragones land of Krynn and beloved characters, yet I found the graphic novel weak in two big areas. So between that, good artwork and quality characters I can’t bring myself to assign 1 star, but as a work of speculative fiction, sadly I cannot go over two.

Return to Book Page. I don’t know if I’m going to re-read the next book. I did want to give it a fair chance though so I finished book one. The drama and metal fantasy that could be are pretty much left by the wayside in favor of what’s basically PG rated adventure.
Absolutely no depth – dragonex like characters from a board game – which they are. I’ve written numerous novels and short stories set in the world of Krynn, as well as series in other, original worlds. Simple prose – This one is a two-edged sword. Basically, this just isn’t my brand of fantasy. Maybe not, maybe I am loz imagining it.

Apparently dwarves have the same personality across books. It was on my day-planner I tend to favor character-centric stories so this resonated with dragoonlance. Also, I didn’t quite remember how derivative the story and the world was of Tolkien. The book slowly evolves to mirror that experience of playing.

I don’t know about you guys but when shit happens and the author keeps telling you, your heroes is scared and hands are shaking and they’re ready to piss their pants okay probably overboard there but yeah, you start looking at them like okayyyyyyyyyyyyyy, can i get another hero please?
Tas the kender and Fizban the mage were particularly amusing and added to the book’s entertainment value. They only rise to quality when they are totally ripping off Tolkien, so even that doesn’t count!

View all 3 comments. I took me a month to get through it – that alone speaks for itself. They all really love their local bar. I grew up loving books by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I may keep this for my son for that reason, and as an introduction if any of the other books in the same world have a bit better rhythm. First, the story is compelling enough to keep you turning the page.
