Did you enjoy having a mixed Fera group? What were the major advantages and disadvantages associated with having a mixed Fera group? Were there any cross-species romances and did they result ot any offspring? Court were the offspring? I have only run the Beast Courts as a one off adventure set in Victorian England. The story went well, the tension in the story was centered around the sole Garou in the party a Silver Fang from the House that is based in India.
Hengeyokai Creation – City of Angels RPG
Hejgeyokai “pack” was the “servants” that he brought with him from India. The adventure was well received the players had fun playing different breeds and no I didn’t have any romance. The story centered around a series of murders of mid rank kin associated with India the killer was a Cult led by B.
I’ve found Hengeyokai and Ahadi really, really fun. There is a specific forum for interactions between the breeds and it creates a very interesting political climate where you have species animosity and agendas in addition to the classic tribal and sept based conflicts.
Coyrts do need to be aware that different breeds have differing combat capabilities – a Kitsune will always be crunchier and less deadly then a Nagah, and a Zhong Lung may avoid going Crinos because he’s afraid of tearing the house down.
But this is the part of the charm. The players need to learn how to balance what henfeyokai play with the features and strengths of the differing breeds. Outside that I feel that it adds a lot in the type of stories and inspiration it can lead to.
The flavour of the individual breeds is so amazing that you can mine it for endless plots and conflicts. Cross species romance can always be a thing, it depends very much on what the players enjoy.
FATAL & Friends — Hengeyokai: Shapeshifers of the East
I don’t think we’ve ever had offspring from one of those, as they usually did not last. Even if it came to kids, the way interbreed breeding lf it’s likely not gonna end well. There is less of a chance for the shifter to actually breed true, and he will be the breed of only one of the parents.
In my Ahadi block, there was a reason for the characters to visit India and interact with the local Simba. What doesn’t kill you, makes you I play in a hengeyokai game currently and so far its hhe fun.
I think part of it is that it tends to give you more diverse characters than in a “typical” Garou pack. Part of what makes it interesting is also that you are presented with a whole new philosophy, new politics, traditions, cultures and pitfalls which makes it interesting from a “getting to know the world” kind of few even for seasoned Werewolf players that have gone through all that stuff several times already within the Garou Nation and cant be surprised by that anymore.
We didn’t have any interspecies romance so far but one of the core themes we are faced with right now is that our Same Bito in a weak moment actually sired offspring with a female Same Bito. The small mansharks haven’t been born yet but if they do they will be to our knowledge the first ever Metis Same Bito to exist.
I’ve run a short few month Hengeyokai game. I liked the additional layer of character dynamics brought in by the different changing breeds. The game took place in feudal Japan I don’t remember the exact time period. The player’s Sentai consisted of a Kitsune Sorcerer Doshi? The PC Hakken developed a personal rivalry in his mind, for some reason I’ll never fully understand with the other Sentai’s Metis Khan and kept challenging him to fights whenever he could rationalize it.
It was fairly amusing overall. The game ended with the characters just shy of Rank 3 and the 2 rivals had officially fought 3 times. The Hakken lost all 3 fights. The Tengu wouldn’t shut up about it. I think the player had assumed NPCs don’t develop over the course of the game for some reasonand so when he got Rank 2 he immediately went back and tried to “put the Metis in his place”. All the players had fun. The group just kind of moved away so we stopped.
Hengeyokkai do like the idea of multi changer coalitions and so have used the Emerald Courts and the Ahadi as templates for a North American coalition for at least 1 Werewolf game. The idea of cross breeding isn’t terribly interesting to me, since it’s dealt with fairly straight forwardly and there isn’t bexst benefit to doing so for either group involved.
Does a crossbreed result in Kinfolk with two bloods or a Fera who is Kin to the breed of their other parent? I also use a Fera coalition for North America in my Werewolf setting. Originally posted by Aya Tari View Post.
In many ways, the best case scenario for many Fera is Kinfolk with two bloodlines. Help Contact Us Go to top.
