The Best Books of Hough rightly points out that brake use means that you already have your hands on the brakes with the nose down, and are more ready to respond to an issue. If you only read one book on motorcycling, this is the one you should read.
This book is written with insight and passion, by prroficient guy who loves to ride, near the end of his riding career. The paper book seems better than the kindle edition.

We have studied Hurt and not noticed some of the points he mentions. He is probably the widest-read hohgh US bike writers, for good reason. The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well. Chapter four deals with urban traffic survival techniques.
He’s not perfect but it’s more nearly within his reach than any rider I’v Don’t sit down to read this like a novel, you’ll choke on it.

A pamphlet worth of useful information in a page text. The author even tells you about another more well respected writer that was killed by a deer hit. Must-read book for all motorcyclists. Hough’s skill as a photographer and illustrator adds a graphic element to his books that leads to immediate understanding of the concepts he explains.
It doesn’t read and it doesn’t proficiejt Hough’s deer psychology.
He’s been an MSF Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor and making safer profivient sexy has been his greatest accomplishment. Disarmingly, Hough confesses to poor tactics in the past, with hints for improvement. It’s mildly interesting, from a general interest point of view, but most of the material is off-subject from the rest of the book. I would highly recommend this book to any new motorcycle rider.

The final chapter of the book, “Sharing the Ride,” is geared toward experienced riders who travel together in groups or who travel with a second passenger on the bike. A couple of the tips have already improved my riding, and much of the advice could save somebody’s life.
