I love the pace of life. Vacations and Sundays are sacred!

I also love the food culture, which we lack for the most part in the US. I also love how convenient it is to get around, everything in the city is much closer together than in Portland. We are also just an easy train or plane ride away from countless beautiful places.


Another pet peeve is that everything is closed between Christmas and New Years. My birthday is Dec. What tips will you give to expats living in the country?

Was it difficult for you to find a job in France? Do you have any tips? My first job aside from teaching was working at a call center, and I got hired right after my temporary contract to stay on as permanent. I stopped working there in April, spent the next few months traveling and being with my family, then started seriously looking for a new job in September. Sophie Dord was hiring, and the rest is history! What are the biggest adjustments you had to make when settling into expat life here?

The Club also organizes monthly special events, like a darts competition, wine and chocolate tastings, sushi nights, and so on. The next event is on September 26, followed by a Halloween party on October The club rooms at Brody House and Brody Studios are a hub for expats and local artists, writers, and journalists. There is a restriction on non-members going to the clubhouses just to hang out, but members can take guests, and many of the events are completely open for anyone to attend.
