Tour of the Concert Facility — If you have an anxious child who would be comforted by a tour of the concert facility, you are welcome to join us for a tour on Wednesday Aug 15 starting at 4pm. Student Wellbeing Teaching children to regulate their emotions.
Teaching children how to regulate their emotions is probably one of the hardest tasks as a parent. What we do know about emotional regulation is that we need to control the emotion and not the other way around. For those that are interested, there is a great easy-to-read resource on emotional regulation linked below for your reference. One of the resources we are looking into is the Zones of Regulation Seen below.

Lunch Time Clubs Lunch Time Clubs are in full swing, providing our students with the opportunity to engage in structured activities during the lunch break. We generally see about children attending on a daily basis which is great and they engage with staff and other students to build friendships, develop social play skills and generally have a bit of fun. From there, the kids will vote and we will spend some of the allocated funds to support the development or replacement of a new session.

Over the fortnight, teachers will be working with the kids on key learning around: Using and modelling manners regularly in class. As the child develops further, they will understand that these words make other people feel good about helping you. Respect and sensitivity In summary, good manners stem from respect for another individual, and the route to respect is essentially sensitivity.
If you can teach a child the value of sensitivity, you are giving them a wonderful gift.

A sensitive infant who develops awareness of others and their feelings, will grow into a respectful child. And a respectful child naturally becomes a well-mannered individual. Good manners become logical to them and not something they have to learn artificially. We are living through an epidemic of loneliness.
One recent study found that more than nine million adults in the UK are either always or often lonely. And scientists are learning more and more about the damage chronic loneliness does to our bodies: Is loneliness a life sentence, or is it possible for some to break through it and come out the other side?
Talk to the shopkeeper, talk to people at bus stops. Then identify people around you who you would like to befriend.

Make yourself talk to them, find a shared interest and get to the point where you can invite them to do something. You have to be really brave to invite someone for a cup of tea, but the outcome is worth the embarrassment and discomfort. Go for regular walks, exercise classes, workshops etc — anything where you might see familiar faces at the same time each week. Make a list of the barriers and obstacles that are preventing you from taking part, such as low self-esteem, or no one to go with.
Take them one by one and think them through from every angle: Can you get support from somewhere to help you do this? How can you make changes to make this possible? For me, anxiety is linked closely with my periods of isolation. Seeing a regular therapist and trying to address my anxiety head-on has helped me to prevent myself from becoming lonely again.
I hope I will be able to take advantage of that in the future myself. Absolutely everyone stops to talk and ask about your dog. Plus, they are great company. Thank you for your feedback.

His early 20s were spent socialising, dancing and DJing on the underground party scene in Leeds, with friends, music and drugs everywhere. People were sectioned, died of overdoses; others just disappeared altogether. The first two weeks in that bedsit were bliss, but it did not last. He quickly grew isolated, paranoid and agoraphobic, unable even to pick up the phone to tell the landlord his toilet was broken.
