Anonimous Posted Mar 20, at 5: Myth Buster Posted Mar 24, at 2: Linda Posted Mar 28, at Thanks" Linda I'm going back to fill in what I didn't have time for before: Embryology is the study of the development of organisms plants and animals Aristotle's On the Generation of Animals is referred to in Latin as De Generatione Animalium.
Aristotle's book was written in the late fourth century B. This book is the second recorded work on embryology as a subject of philosophy, being preceded by contributions in the Hippocratic corpus by about a century. However, it was the first work to provide a theory of how reproduction works in a variety of different animals.
De Generatione was the first scientific work on embryology. Yasmin Posted Feb 7, at 5: I wonder if this was also an observable phenomena by mankind also. Eagerly anticipating your response: Linda Posted Feb 22, at 8: This was not known or illustrated until the 15th century AD".
Plagiarizing of ancient Greek and Indian embryology can never be proven one way or the other. Therefore, showing that the Qur'an embryology is made up of incorrect or illogical or unproven assertions is the best way to answer. The Qur'an never explicitly claims that the female parent contributes genetic material.
The Qur'an does not claim a role for the ovum at all, or is even ignorant of its existence. The Islamists claim that the Qur'an correctly states that the sex of the progeny is determined by the sperm from the male parent, based on verses He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, From a drop of seed when it is poured forth; the Qur'an itself provides the evidence of its doctrinal omission or rejection of the role of the ovum in procreation, for verse 2: This is they are like the earth receiving the zygote seed from the male.
Tilth does not contribute genetic material to the development of the seed. The Qur'an verses define the stages of the embryo like this: Nutfah Believed to be sperm 3.
Alaqa leach, leach-like, clot, clinging thing 4. Mudgha chewed lump, partly formed and partly unformed 5. Izhaam covered with Lahm muscles and flesh 7. Another creation fetus The first stage is dust. What does it correspond to in modern Embryology?
The word thumma is linking dust and sperm. So the verse reads: Cartilage does not begin forming until week five or six and muscles begin forming in the fourth week, the Qur'an verse We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. Anyone who has studied human reproduction will realize, there is no stage as a clot during the formation of a fetus so this is a very major scientific problem.
Qur'an Pseudoscience Embryology can be seen to be false: The Quran itself omits mention of the ovum in human reproduction, with doctrinal evidence that it regards the progeny to be the resulting union between the seed from the male parent and the female parent as tilth.
As tilth do not provide genetic material to the seed, it is abundantly clear that the Qur'an regards the nutfah sperm as the diploid seed. The Qur'an includes an initial dust stage that cannot be reconciled with modern embryology. The missing stages of verse The stage of bone formation is in error, even assuming that izhaam means both bone and cartilage. The Qur'an is incorrect about cell differentiation at the Mudgha stage, as modern embryology has discovered cell differentiation occurring before and after the putative Mudgha stage.
The claims that the Qur'an correctly predicted the beginning of the fetal stage are incorrect because the transition between the embryo and the fetus is arbitrary. The reason they all make the claim that they are ahead of modern science is because they are concerned that growing number of average people are learning more about modern science. In order to control the mounting doubt because of contradictions between the these holy books and science they now claim these books are far ahead of science and that's why there is a conflict.
Some Christian fundies do the same with the Bible; it is nothing more than deception. The Bible and Qur'an describe the sky as a roof supported by invisible pillars built to stop it from falling on the Earth. Ahead of modern science? The "splitting of the moon" claim based on verse Mohammed simply made the moon split into two halves, one half on each side of the mountain Hira. I find it hard to believe, but supposedly the Arabs merely accused Mohammed of performing magic tricks.
The "Splitting of the Moon" in the Qur'an claims that Mohammed made the moon to split into two halves and then glued them together. The modern claim is that fourteen hundred years later, NASA confirmed that splitting.
Records of solar eclipses have been kept since ancient times, but there is no record anywhere related to "moon splitting" except by a few Muslims in the Middle Eastern Desert.
Even if they couldn't observe an eclipse of the moon all over the world the "splitting of the moon" would have been a worldwide phenomenon that would have been hard to dismiss. These facts strongly suggest to logical and reasonable people that the claim is false. Just like the claim that NASA has proven "moon splitting" by a picture they released throughout the world of the "moon splitting".
There were satellite images of the moon surface that showed grooves, which exist normally on the moon and many planets. There was no claim that there was an outstanding discovery; but some Islamic web sites published the satellite images claiming they were formed as a result of that split fourteen hundreds years ago.
Actually, the story in the Qur'an completely contradicts modern science. According to the Qur'an Mohammed split the moon in two and then joined the parts back together. Even if some cockamamie Muslim geologist does really think that NASA scientists have discovered that the moon was split into two halves and joined back together, if this had actually occurred then how come nobody else on Earth noticed it?
Also, if the moon had split and then rejoined, the energy involved would have melted the moon and wiped out all the craters that we see today on its surface. The authors of the Qur'an made up this story about the "splitting moon" because they thought the moon was a small ball in the sky. They didn't have a clue about its gravitational pull on our planet. They didn't know about gravity.
They had some idea that "splitting the moon" wouldn't have any effect on earth's stability, which demonstrates that the authors were totally ignorant of astronomy, and that is evident throughout the Qur'an. No sane educated person would believe this madness. According to the Qur'an, the Earth is flat and stationary at the center of the Universe and the Sun and Moon are just little lights that move across the Sky every 24 hours. This clearly contradicts Modern Science. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise and for the Moon we have appointed mansions till she returns like an old shriveled palm leaf.
The Qur'an clearly speaks of the Sun moving to a resting place. Nowhere does the Qur'an explicitly state that the Earth is one of several Planets orbiting the Sun.
Explain how the Qur'an says nothing about other planets, Earth's rotation, but only states that the Sun is moving, and is still supposedly in complete agreement even ahead of modern science.
The "7 layers of heaven" does not come any closer to modern science. The closest celestial body to Earth is was the Moon and the farthest Saturn. Therefore the concept of the 7 layers of heaven is based on ancient astronomy, where each celestial body occupied a crystal sphere one placed on top of the other like layers of an onion.
Both Judaism and Christianity make reference to these layers of heaven. The number seven was tattooed into the brain of the ancient man. There were seven planets or gods and the phases of the moon changed every seven days. God rested on day seven ending creation week. Every seventh year was sabbatical and the seven times seventh year ushered in the Jubilee year.
The Pagans divided their weeks in seven days each day representing a deity. The verse has nothing to do with layers of the atmospheres as claimed by charlatans. It has to do with the geocentric concept of the universe that was prevalent at the time. Note also that according to the Qur'an, stars are lamps that are affixed to the ceiling of the lower layer of the Heaven for adornment purposes.
The lower level is the sphere of the Moon. Obviously stars are not in the same layer where the Moon is and neither the Moon nor the stars are in the lower atmosphere of the Earth. The concept of the layers of heaven in the Qur'an is unrelated to anything known about the layers of the atmosphere.
Neither the Qur'an nor the Bible are scientifically correct. Christianity can be traced back to the pagan Babylon religion, and Islam can be traced back to the pagan moon worship of the Assyrians and Babylonians. The Babylonian Sin the moon was a very ancient deity. The name Mount Sinai has its origin in the god Sin.
There is solid evidence that demonstrates the god Allah was a pagan deity. In fact, he was the Moon-god who was married to the sun goddess and the stars were his daughters. Archeologists have uncovered temples to the Moon-god throughout the Middle East.
Mecca was in fact built as a shrine for the Moon-god. This is what made it the most sacred site of Arabian paganism. And was still the dominant cult in the purported time of Muhammad. According to numerous inscriptions, while the name of the Moon-god was Sin, his title was al-ilah, the greatest god among the gods. The Moon-god was called al-ilah, the god, which was shortened to Allah in pre-Islamic times. History establishes beyond the shadow of doubt that pagan Arabs before Muhammad chief god's name was Allah.
Allah was actually the greatest of gods one for each day of the year being worshiped in Arabia at the time Muhammad rose to prominence. Pre-Islamic literature has proved pagans before Muhammad worshiped Allah at Mecca. Allah was one of many gods worshiped in Mecca until Muhammad allegedly taught the worship of Allah as the only God. A likely interpretation for the "splitting of the moon" story if you get the connection.
Yaaseen Posted Nov 13, at 4: Linda Posted Feb 23, at 1: Even if they couldn't observe an eclipse of the moon all over the world the "splitting of the moon" would have been a worldwide phenomenon that would have been hard to dismiss, which I stated above, you missed it? The problem with this claim is that this astronomical phenomenon should have been observed, not just in Mecca, but all over the world.
Many nations have recorded even eclipses, why there is no mention of such a thing that for sure would have been the most amazing phenomenon? Muhammad insisted that even though other prophets had miracles, his only miracle is the Quran. So when Muslims claim that Muhammad performed miracles, they are going against the Quran itself.
Those who are convinced that this phenomenon has indeed happened need to know for one thing that the close-up pictures of the Moon taken by NASA as the evidence are called Lunar Rilles. Rilles are long and deep gorges resembling canyons. A rille is typically several kilometers wide and hundreds of kilometers in length. Similar formations are found on a number of planets in the solar system, including Mars, Venus, and on a number of moons. Rilles can be found all over the lunar surface and they do not form a belt, so, it does not in anyway support the claim of Muslims that the Moon had been split.

In the process, the Quran confirms many of the aspects present in the Torah, but also corrects others, such as exonerating Aaron and Moses, among other minor points. Infancy In line with the Judaic view, we find out from the Quran that when Prophet Moses pbuh was born in Egypt, his life was in great danger as the Pharoah was persecuting the Israelites. Truly Pharaoh elated himself in the land and broke up its people into sections depressing a group among them: So We sent this inspiration to the mother of Moses: The wife of Pharaoh said: It may be that he will be of use to us, or we may adopt him as a son.
Of course, Moses readily nursed from her and the two were thus rejoined. Thus did We restore him to his mother that her eye might be comforted, that she might not grieve and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true: When he reached adulthood, he once intervened in a fight between an Israelite and an Egyptian, killing the latter inadvertently. The Quran mentions that guilt consumed him and he asked God to forgive him; fearing for his life, he fled and migrated to Madian, where he found refuge in a household by marrying one of the daughters and serving her father see After some time, Moses returned to Egypt with his family.
On the way, near Mount Tur, he saw a fire, and he proceeded towards it. But when he came to the Firea voice was heard from the right bank of the valley, from a tree in hallowed ground: According to the Quran, assisted by his brother, Aaron HarunMoses had a dual task: Even though Moses had brought clear signs from God And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: My Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me! And We made the other party approach thither.
We delivered Moses and all who were with him; but We drowned the others. Verily in this is a Sign: And We made a people, considered weak and of no accountinheritors of lands in both East and West — lands whereon We sent down Our blessings.
The fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because they had patience and constancy, and we leveled to the ground the great works and fine buildings which Pharoah and his people erected with such pride. Over a period of forty nights, God revealed religious knowledge to Moses and chose him to continue to lead his people.
And We ordained laws for him in the Tablets in all matters, both commanding and explaining all things and said:
